While this mentality can be beneficial for making progress, it can also lead to burnout and injury if we don’t take the time to allow our bodies to rest and recover. This is where active recovery comes in – it allows us to keep moving and working out while giving our bodies the break they need to continue making progress.

So, what is active recovery? It’s essentially low-impact exercise that helps increase blood flow and promote muscle recovery. This can include activities like yoga, light cardio, or mobility work. The goal is to get the body moving and promote healing without putting additional stress on the muscles and joints.

Here are some active recovery workout ideas to incorporate into your training routine:

Yoga: Yoga is a great way to increase flexibility, improve range of motion, and promote relaxation. Even just a few minutes of stretching and breathing can help reduce soreness and tension in the muscles.

Swimming: Swimming is a low-impact activity that can help increase blood flow and promote muscle recovery. The resistance of the water can also help build strength without putting additional stress on the joints.
